This past Saturday night was a good night for some of the fighters from Finney’s, while other received their first loss. In the boxing matches Rhett Mayfield made the move from just the fitness side of the Boxing classes to taking the next step into the competition side of boxing. This was Rhett’s first fight. Rhett came out very patient and landed some good combination but the speed of his opponent ended up being too much for Rhett. Rhett lost his first boxing match. Jeff Emerson was back in the ring after receiving his first loss back in July. Emerson has been training hard for this fight and won by KO in only 20 seconds. In a grappling match Torrey Iannazzo took the match to the decision and won on all the scorecards. In MMA, Finney’s sent 2 fighters to the ring. Matt Robison came into the night with an undefeated 2-0 record. He was up against a 2-1 fighter in Gene Bryant. Bryant came out victorious. In the Main Event, Scott Wirtz came to the ring for the first time. He took on a All State and took it to a decision and won his first MMA match. Great job to all the fighters.
