December 8th, 2009 · No Comments

Finney’s MMA sent 7 fighters to the cage this past Saturday night with hopes of coming out victorious or at least giving their best if they were defeated. They all did give their best and because of the hard work and training all came out victorious. Of the 7 fighters 3 of them are instructors at Finney’s MMA. Mini Finney’s head instructor Brittany Anic, who started training with Finney’s when she was 9 years old, has made the transition from kickboxing to mixed martial arts. After her fighter dropped out 2 hours before the fight, Anic kept her composer and came out victorious. She now is 2 and 0 in MMA. Thanks and a lot of respect goes out to Jen Kamp who stepped up to face Brittany on short notice. Kickboxing and boxing instructors Adam Cella and Jimmy Donahue also were on the card. Both of these guys started in the class structure as teenagers and have moved up into leadership roles in the gym. Adam Cella kept is undefeated record with an impressive win. Donahue was looking to made his return to the cage memorable. Jimmy has been injured since his last fight and trained hard for this one, he also came out victorious in his return. Other Finney’s fighters who were on the card were: Ricky Trevor, Nick Reeder, Mike Finnegan and Joe Tobias. All 4 also came out victorious.
