Finney’s MMA is excited to announce the addition of American Top Team fighter Ezra Lenon as their newest jiu-jitsu trainer. The addition of Ezra Lenon as an instructor only emphasizes the caliber of training Finney’s MMA is dedicated to providing. Ezra started out by adding additional jiu-jitsu classes, that puts classes 7 days a week. The addition of Ezra Lenon has also provided the opportunity of adding more than seven extra hours of grappling training a week. With these additional classes, Finney’s now offers more than forty hours a week of training in boxing/kickboxing/Jiu Jitsu/ and Mixed Martial Arts. Lenon proves to be a welcome asset to an already impressive coaching staff consisting of Strikeforce and World Combat League veterans.
One of the most impressive aspects of Finney’s coaching staff is that virtually all of the instructors are currently competitors themselves, and Lenon is no exception. He was awarded with an American Top Team brown belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, which he completed in just under four years. In 2006, Lenon was ranked as the #1 grappler in the state of Missouri and is an eight-time NAGA Champion. He recently competed in the 2010 Arnold Grappling Challenge in Columbus, Ohio, taking first place in both the 190lb no-gi division and in the absolute no-gi division. He is also the 2010 Missouri State Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Championship Super Fight Champion. Lenon will next compete in a tournament in Colorado in the middle of April. Anyone looking to try out a grappling class at Finney’s would benefit from the competitive nature and accomplishments of instructors like Lenon. His unrivaled passion for the sport can only translate into an enthusiasm for coaching that could help anyone achieve his or her goals.
