Shamrock MMA and Finney’s MMA Fighter Development System
Our fighter development system was created to help our fighters develop the skills it takes to make it in the world of Mixed Martial Arts. Until 2008, professional MMA wasn’t legal in the State of Missouri. So our fighters weren’t able to develop into great fighters by fighting on events that were comparable to pro. events. Now that professional MMA is legalized, we have developed a system to help fighters develop their skills to become top fighters.
This system mirrors that of Major League Baseball, where players start at a development league and move up based on their skills and performance. Fighters start out fighting in a smaller venue and work their way up into the professional level events. We are able to do this because of the amount of events we promote and also the affiliations we have established with various professional MMA companies.
Fighters start out by training, sparring stand up, and at times competing in grappling tournaments until they are ready to compete in their first MMA match. This first fight typically occurs on the under card of the St. Louis based Shamrock MMA, one of our partners in St. Louis.
As the amateur gains more experience and wins more fights, he or she will be given a professional fight on one of our affiliates shows. Our professionals fighters currently compete at Shark Fights, Bellator, MFC, Strikeforce, and the UFC.
