Jiu-Jitsu Head instructor, Ezra Lenon, was in Wisconsin over the weekend for a big Jiu-jitsu tournament. He was entered in the Absolute class for all Brown Belts. After winning the Gi class he then started the No-Gi. After a long day of matches Ezra came out victorious and won both groups. Great Job Ezra!!
On July 24th, Shamrock Promotions co-promoted The Night of the Elite. This was a mixed Professional MMA, Professional Boxing and amateur boxing event. Of the card making her boxing debut was Brittany Anic. She fought a heavier and taller opponent, but in the end came out victorious in a 3 round decision. Also on the amateur boxing card was Mike Vaughn. This was Vaughn’s 2nd boxing match. He also won by a 3 round decision. In a professional boxing match, Kevin Engel was back in the ring for the first time since his Showtime bout. Engel went into the 2nd round and won by TKO. Jimmy Donahue was making his Professional MMA debut. After a great amateur career, it was time for Donahue to make the move to his professional career. He was taking on a much more experienced opponent, but make quick work with a win just :24 into the first round by guillotine choke. The other MMA bout featured newly added instructor Isaiah Larson. This was the first time Larson has bout since making the move to Finney’s MMA. After a tough 3 round war, Larson came out victorious with a 3 round decision.
On Saturday July 24th, 5 of Finney’s MMA fighters will be in action in St. Louis. Boxing on that night will be Kevin Engel, Brittany Anic, and Mike Vaughn. In a combination special event show there will also be MMA on the same card. In MMA, Jimmy Donahue will be making his professional debut. Also on the card will be recent addition to the staff, Isaiah Larson. This will be Larson’s 1st fight since moving from American Top Team to Finney’s MMA. Tickets are still available 314-608-3180.
Finney’s MMA has increased its already impressive roster of instructors with the recent additions of Isaiah Larson, Ben Brown, Ryan Sutton and Lucas Lopes. With these additions, you now have access to more than 60 hours a week of training in our new schedule.
Whether you’re a beginner looking to get in shape or an accomplished fighter looking to improve your knowledge of Boxing, Kickboxing or Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Finney’s new schedule is able to accommodate your fitness and fighting needs. Finney’s MMA now offers classes every day of the week, in a diverse assortment of fighting disciplines, taught by instructors who are experts in their various fields. In addition, Finney’s offers classes morning, noon and night, which makes training convenient for anyone with a busy schedule.
To begin with, nothing will give you a more intense workout than one of the eight Strength and Conditioning classes offered every week. Finney’s also provides more than 11 hours of Boxing/Kickboxing classes a week, starting as early as noon on the weekdays, with the last classes starting at 6:30 in the evenings. If its Jiu-Jitsu you’re interested in, you can take your pick of 14 classes offered weekly, ranging in skill level from beginner to advanced. Additionally, Mini-Finney’s classes are provided several days a week, teaching kids both self-discipline and the rewards of good fitness. With this new schedule, Finney’s MMA has once again proved itself to be the premier fighting gym in Saint Louis.
